San Fran Baby!

We did it!  We completed a cross country trip with both kids!  We had a great time.  Although the best part of the trip was over according to Emerson.  He REALLY enjoyed himself on the airplane as well as the AirTran at the Dallas Airport.  And we knew we must be in San Francisco when we saw the cool chairs at the airport.

Once we landed, we got to go on another AirTran (Yippee) and then headed out to get our rental car and check into the hotel.  Then, because we are Kevin and Kendra, we headed out immediately to check out some local sights. We went to the East Bay Vivarium in Berkeley.  It was wild to say the least... Fair Warning if you hold a special spot in your heart for baby chics you may want to skip the following pictures.

After the Vivarium we headed to find some good food and opted for sushi.  It was delicious!

After eating breakfast at Bette's Diner, we spent the next day in San Francisco.  We started the day at famous Pier 39 to watch the sea lions.  Next, we got to ride a trolley and eat at the Slanted Door. After lunch, we drove around San Francisco while Emerson slept and Lisette remained stubbornly awake, got cappuccinos from Cafe Trieste, and drove around the beautiful Golden Gate Park.  We returned to Berkeley and ate an AMAZING meal at Chez Panisse.

For our last day the kids and I headed off by ourselves to the Lawrence Science Center, which was at the top of a BIG hill.  Em had a great time, I cursed all children save for my own, but we got some great pictures of Berkeley and San Fran.  Overall, a great trip indeed!

March Madness

While it is currently nearing the end of April we had lots of fun in March that is deserving of preserving!  No less than 2 baby showers, a trip to the aquarium, and a lot of days spent outside due to the March Heatwave of 2012.  Baby girls is working hard (occasionally) at thinking about walking; however, she has clearly shown a preference for the "scoot." So much so, in fact, that she has actually earned the nickname "scooter" at daycare. To indicate she wants something she has developed a very regal, Princess-Diana-like-wave/hand roll, that oozes a sense of "why are these people making me wait so long"? On the other hand, her full-face, squinty-eyes, chin up smile is enough to light up a room. Emerson is still thoroughly engrossed in sea creatures and was in his element at the aquarium. Although he seemed a little disappointed that they did not have orcas or humpback whales. He is obsessed with "friendliness" and therefore wants to know the friendliness status of everything.  Recently, he has even inquired about inanimate objects such as the splinter in his finger. We also spent much of the month beginning the countdown to our family trip to San Francisco.
All in all a good month...
